Academic Integrity Tutorial

Learn about academic integrity and how to apply it in your coursework.

All University of Maryland Global Campus students are responsible for understanding and applying key academic integrity concepts and working with integrity according to our academic integrity policy. The tutorial modules on this page are an excellent resource for learning and review when creating authentic coursework.

As of Fall 2022, new UMGC students are required to take the Integrity & Ethics orientation course (see your course list at learn.umgc.edu). During this course, students will complete the Academic Integrity Tutorial modules and other learning activities. Module certificates are no longer required within UMGC courses.

The Integrity & Ethics orientation course is administered by the Office of Academic Integrity & Accountability (OAIA). Please contact integritybadge@umgc.edu with any questions about the course, academic integrity requirements, or any related issues.

The Academic Integrity (AI) Tutorial offers students dynamic content and real-world application of academic integrity concepts, policies, and research methods to support your work at University of Maryland Global Campus. The AI Tutorial consists of six modules:

Module 1: Academic Integrity: What It Is and Why It Matters
