In general, no. If the concerns in a report raise the potential for breaking a law, Student Conduct may consult with the Office of Legal Affairs and/or contact the appropriate authorities to file a report.
Any individual who witnesses an alleged violation can submit a report for review.

When a student is reported to Student Conduct for an alleged Code violation, the process for investigating these claims is as follows:
- A report of an alleged violation of the Code of Student Conduct is submitted to sacoc@umgc.edu.
- An initial review of the alleged violation is completed by Student Conduct, which may include contacting the reporting party.
- Following the initial review and based on the reported behavior, Student Conduct will decide whether to move forward to a formal Code process.
- For cases that move forward to a formal Code review, students will have the opportunity for a one-on-one meeting with a member of Student Conduct or to appear before a three-person committee.
- At the conclusion of the formal Code process, students will be found responsible or not responsible, and if found responsible, will be assigned one or more sanctions.
