There are many circumstances under which you can benefit from a discussion with someone knowledgeable about the university and its policies.

Please note: The ombudsperson does not record formal complaints on behalf of UMGC. Communications made to the ombudsperson about possible violations of university policies or of unlawful practices do not constitute official notice to UMGC. The informal nature of the communication allows the ombudsperson to preserve confidentiality and impartiality. If you would like to make a formal complaint and put the university on notice, the ombudsperson can indicate the appropriate method to do so and refer you to the appropriate office and policy.
