
Jonathan Ferber

Jonathan “Jon” Ferber is a DBA student at UMGC, and he is proud to be elected as a member of the STAC, where he has the esteemed privilege of representing working adults, parents, and lifelong learners who are balancing academic goals with professional and personal responsibilities. As a first-generation college graduate and Baltimore native, Jon brings a lived commitment to accessible, high-impact education that reflects the needs of today’s diverse student population.
Professionally, Jon serves as the Apheresis Recruitment Program Manager for the American Red Cross. In this national role, he leads strategic initiatives in workforce planning, operational efficiency, and data-driven recruitment. His work directly supports the organization’s ability to secure life-saving platelet and plasma donations by using predictive performance insights and targeted coaching strategies to help recruitment teams consistently meet production goals.
Jon holds a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, along with Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees. His current research explores which factors influence employee acceptance of emerging digital technologies in the workplace. Jon aims to help mission-driven organizations, like the Red Cross, develop more inclusive and effective digital transformation strategies that meet the needs of their employees and drive business value.
Through his academic inquiry, leadership experience, and passion for community impact, Jon is committed to supporting organizational growth, employee engagement, and digital equity in the nonprofit sector and beyond. He looks forward to representing the student body, providing feedback on UMGC initiatives, and giving back to UMGC by working within this advisory capacity.
