David Pierre

UMGC Global Graduate Representative

Biography

David Pierre came to the United States from Haiti seven years ago. Starting from the bottom, cleaning bathrooms at a fast food restaurant, David worked his way up to become a senior application security consultant associate for one of the Big Four accounting firms, PwC.

David has a passion for teaching and the ability to explain complex technical concepts. Driven by his desire for helping others and his expertise in cybersecurity, David also serves as a cybersecurity mentor to empower students to tackle real-world challenges and stay up to date with the latest industry trends.

David holds an Associate of Science in cybersecurity from Allegany College of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in software development and security from University of Maryland Global Campus. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in cyber operations at University of Maryland Global Campus. He also holds the CompTIA Security+ certification.

David is a family man who enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. Along with his dedication to cybersecurity and making the digital world a safer place, David also loves reading his Bible, playing soccer, playing the bass guitar and piano, and cooking delicious Haitian cuisine.

In addition to his fluency in English, David is also proficient in his native languages of French and Haitian Creole.
