Alumni Succeed Again Scholarship 2022

Succeed again at your alma mater by earning up to $2,000 toward a master's degree at UMGC.

At University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC), we believe that there are multiple ways to find your next success. As graduates, you know that balancing coursework with your professional and personal obligations is no small feat.

But you also know that success is possible—because you've already achieved it. As a working adult or servicemember, you've earned a degree or certificate at UMGC, increased your marketability, and boosted your career potential with workplace-ready skills and knowledge. Your obligations didn't stop—you just kept going. You're used to success, and now you're ready to succeed again.

UMGC’s 2022 Alumni Succeed Again Scholarship was an opportunity for eligible students who started the first course in any UMGC stateside master's degree program between January 11, 2023 and February 15, 2023 to earn a scholarship of up to $2,000

Please note: This scholarship is not currently being offered to students.

Eligibility Criteria

Students who were eligible for the 2022 Alumni Winter Term Scholarship had

  • Earned a degree or certificate from UMGC, conferred prior to January 1, 2023, with a GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Met the admissions requirements of UMGC
  • Started their first course in a stateside master's degree program between January 11, 2023 and February 15, 2023 (graduate certificates and doctoral programs are excluded)

Students who received this scholarship met UMGC's requirements for Satisfactory Academic Progress to maintain their eligibility.

Scholarship Details

Award Details

  • The Alumni Succeed Again Scholarship cannot be combined with any UMGC tuition discount.
  • The Alumni Succeed Again Scholarship is disbursed in increments and your award amount is dependent upon your transfer credits and course load.
  • The total amount of this scholarship ($2,000) will be distributed as two awards of $1,000 each.
  • Funding is applied in the following increments:
    • The first $1,000 award will be distributed in the term after you earn your 13th credit
    • The second $1,000 award will be distributed in the term after you earn your 25th credit 
  • You must be enrolled in order for scholarship funding to be disbursed to your account.
  • The following chart provides an example of how transfer credit and UMGC credit loads affect the amount and disbursement of scholarship funds for master's degree students.

Scenario: Transferring in 0–6 Credits, Taking 6 Credits Term 1

Please note: Withdrawal from all courses in a term in which the award is applied will result in the Alumni Succeed Again Scholarship being canceled for that term. Your balance will be recalculated, and you will be responsible for any outstanding amounts. You will receive the scholarship in the next term in which you are eligible and enroll.
