Maryland residents may be eligible to receive a need-based grant of up to $1,500 from UMGC.

University of Maryland Global Campus is proud to award the Maryland Resident Success Grant to eligible undergraduate and graduate students who have completed a FAFSA, demonstrated financial need, and fulfilled all other eligibility requirements listed below. Recipients may receive a maximum annual award amount of $1,500.

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
  • Maintain enrollment of at least 3 program-applicable credits in each term of the award
  • Meet the requirements for Satisfactory Academic Progress at UMGC

Annual funding for the Maryland Resident Success Grant is limited. Not all students who meet the eligibility criteria will receive an award.

  • In the same term in which they have received a UMGC President’s Grant

Grant Details

Eligible students will be automatically selected and awarded the grant until the annual funding allocation is exhausted. If additional funding becomes available throughout the aid year, awards will be made to additional students.

Selected recipients will see the grant as part of their financial aid offer and in the MyUMGC Student Portal. Eligible students may receive these grant funds in each term they enroll. Funds cannot be transferred from one term to another.

Students are strongly encouraged to complete the FAFSA as early as possible each year when it becomes available.
