Display Your Digital Credentials to Potential Employers

Earn respected, reputable digital badges that you can show to potential employers and display on your social media profiles. In this program, UMGC will recognize career-ready skills you demonstrate, awarding you specialized digital credentials when you reach certain program milestones, like completing a pre-set list of electives in a subject area.

UMGC has partnered with the LifeJourney app to develop a Comprehensive Learner Record (CLR) tool that helps you display accomplishments, skills, and credentials you earn while learning. To learn more about your CLE, email studentrecords@umgc.edu.

This program is designed to help prepare students with military experience for senior leadership positions in public, private, and nonprofit organizations in various fields. Practice Real-World Skills in Your Courses

Throughout your curriculum, your instructors will assign coursework that will provide real-world solutions to help you transition from your military service to a civilian career. In past courses, students in this program have been able to complete the following course projects:

  • Complete an organizational scan that introduces leadership theories and how they are applied in different organizational sectors.
  • Assess your own leadership style through a “Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire" and create an individual development plan considering self-reflection, emotional intelligence, and self-development strategies.
  • Create a career portfolio that contains written and oral responses to mock interview questions to demonstrate your decision-making and strategic relationship skills.
  • Create an action plan for your first 90 days on the job.
