The UMGC online master’s degree in transformational leadership is specifically designed to help military students successfully transition into the civilian workforce. The program leverages industry partnerships to give you an opportunity to contribute to businesses through change management programs and assess your leadership strengths and weaknesses in a classroom setting.

This program is designed to help prepare students with military experience for senior leadership positions in public, private, and nonprofit organizations in various fields. Potential job titles include logistics manager, director, purchasing supervisor, watch officer, network operations manager, and change manager. UMGC’s experienced faculty help students build skills and competencies that today’s employer’s value.

An online master's degree in transformational leadership is a graduate degree that can help you transition your military leadership skills to a civilian organization. UMGC’s online master's degree in transformational leadership is a 36-credit program available only to military servicemembers and veterans. The program covers topics like leading with strategy, leading through change, and decisive thinking. Graduates may be well-prepared for careers in the public sector, private sector, or other fields.
UMGC's online master's degree in transformational leadership is a 36-credit program with courses offered year-round. Depending on how many credits you complete each term and the number of credits you may be able to transfer, you can expect to graduate in as little as 18 months.

The online master's degree in transformational leadership follows the standard graduate program tuition rates as well as the Master of Science in Transformational Leadership military tuition rate, which appear at the top of this webpage. Active-duty servicemembers, spouses, and dependent children should check the military tuition rate eligibility webpage to confirm eligibility for the Master of Science in Transformational Leadership military tuition rate. We also offer scholarships for eligible students, an interest-free monthly payment plan, and no-cost digital materials in place of most textbooks to help make your education more affordable.
You don't need to have majored in a specific area to be successful in the online master's degree in transformational leadership program at UMGC. However, you are expected to have leadership experience from serving as an officer (noncommissioned or commissioned) in the U.S. Armed Forces.
In addition, strong writing skills are encouraged.
Our Master of Business Administration is designed to provide high-level competencies in business functions such as accounting, finance, marketing, and management to help prepare students to succeed in private organizations. The Master of Science in Transformational Leadership focuses on augmenting leadership competencies that students developed in the military and applying them to leadership positions in civilian work sectors.
Admission to this program is restricted to military servicemembers and veterans. If you are a civilian without military experience and are interested in developing your leadership and strategic skills, you are encouraged to pursue a Master of Business Administration.
We will accept up to 12 credits from selected professional military education institutions. In order to receive the credit, students must submit an official transcript from the institution. We will provide you with a list of specific programs that students can use to apply transfer credit to the Master of Science in Transformational Leadership. Transfer credits are not required to join this program.
