UMGC celebrates distinguished staff for exemplary commitment to the university.

At University of Maryland Global Campus, we are proud to award our staff who have exhibited admirable leadership, commitment, and service to the university and its mission.

  • Presidential Awards—Presented annually to faculty and staff members who have demonstrated exemplary performance and made distinctive contributions to UMGC throughout their careers through active and consistent involvement in programs, activities, or projects.
  • Distinguished Achievement Award—Presented to staff members who have exhibited exemplary leadership, commitment and/or service to UMGC's mission.
  • Innovation Award—Presented to staff and faculty who develop innovative ideas, devices, or processes with the potential to create a positive and profound impact on the university.
  • Bylee Massey Memorial Award—In honor of the late wife of former UMGC President H. Benjamin Massey, this award is given annually to a student, faculty member or university employee who has contributed in an unselfish and innovative way to make UMGC a better place.
  • Newcomer Impact Award—Recognizes the contributions made by individuals who have displayed noteworthy bold thinking, initiative, courage, and persistence since joining the university.
