University of Maryland Global Campus has transfer agreements with all 16 Maryland community colleges and more than 90 community and technical colleges nationwide to help streamline the transfer credit process.
How Transfer Credits Work
If you've taken courses at an approved two-year community college, you may be able to apply these credits toward an associate's (for military and veteran students) or bachelor's degree.
You can transfer up to 45 credits toward an associate's or up to 70 credits toward a bachelor's from approved two-year colleges or universities or from other combined sources (including credit by examination, military education and training, or other fast paths to credit).
We also accept up to 9 credits toward undergraduate certificates.
Completion Scholarship
If you graduated with your associate's degree from a participating Maryland community college, you are guaranteed admission to UMGC and you are eligible for the Completion Scholarship. This scholarship enables you to complete your bachelor's degree program for $12,000 or less.
Community College Alliance Program
If you are attending a Maryland community college or another community college that has partnered with UMGC, you can take advantage of many benefits in the community college alliance program, including a waived application fee.
Plus, if you haven't earned an associate's degree and you would like to pursue one, UMGC's Reverse Transfer Program could be the right fit for you. This program allows you to transfer UMGC credits back to participating community colleges and finish an associate's while you work toward your bachelor's at UMGC.
