How can I request an English language proficiency waiver?
UMGC requires proof of English language proficiency for admission, but you may qualify for a waiver based on your background.
To request a waiver, email the following documents to admissions@umgc.edu and include your Student ID (EMPLID).
- Resume: List positions held and city for each.
- Letter of Recommendation: From a professor or colleague confirming your English proficiency (on official letterhead, saved as PDF).
- Writing Sample: Explain how UMGC will help you reach your goals, how long you've lived in the U.S., and any related work experience.
