Why didn’t I receive the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)?

The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) is a limited fund awarded to students with exceptional financial need. Federal Pell Grant recipients with the lowest Student Aid Index (SAI) are given priority each year.

Even if you received the FSEOG before, you may not receive it again because:

  • Your financial need or SAI changed
  • Funding was limited, and priority was given to others
  • You were not enrolled at least half-time

UMGC reviews eligibility each year based on your FAFSA and available funds. You'll receive an email if you are selected, and you can also check your financial aid package in MyUMGC.
