How does UMGC support student parents through the FamilyU program?
Yes! UMGC is committed to supporting student parents and is proud to be part of the FamilyU Cohort, a national program led by Generation Hope, a nonprofit organization focused on helping student parents succeed in college.
Through this two-year initiative, UMGC is working to:
- Improve services that support student parents both in and outside the classroom
- Strengthen policies and practices that promote access, equity, and flexibility
- Collaborate with other universities to share resources, data, and ideas that benefit student parents
- The goal is to remove barriers and make sure student parents have the tools and support they need to thrive at UMGC.
