What happens if I get more financial aid than my cost of attendance?
You cannot receive financial aid that goes over your cost of attendance (COA), which includes tuition, fees, and estimated expenses like housing, food, and books. Your COA depends on your program, course load, and living situation.
If your aid is more than your COA:
- Before disbursement: Your aid will be reduced.
- After disbursement: Your aid will be adjusted, and you may owe a balance.
We'll notify you if any changes are made. If you have questions, submit a case to the Office of Financial Aid through the Help Center.
