Student Organizations & Honor Societies

Connect with fellow UMGC students from around the globe.

University of Maryland Global Campus student organizations provide professional growth opportunities, leadership development, and academic recognition. Learn and grow by engaging in a variety of networking and service opportunities as part of a community. Most student organizations have a virtual component and opportunities for members to participate regardless of location.

Honor societies are national organizations that celebrate the scholarship and leadership of students in specific fields of study. The honor societies represented at UMGC meet our high academic standards. Membership is a privilege that can enhance your academic and professional stature.

There were students in my classes from all over the world. In one group, I had one person who was from Asia, another was from Europe, and another was in California. It was so nice because you get a bunch of different perspectives. It was a good environment to express what you know and what you’ve learned, but also to learn from everybody else.
