Institutional Advancement, Development, and Alumni Relations

The purpose of this policy concerning University of Maryland Global Campus ("UMGC" or "Institution") Institutional Advancement, Development, and Alumni Relations is to provide a framework for ensuring that related activities are either initiated by or are developed in cooperation with the appropriate departments and individuals at the University.
This policy applies to all individuals undertaking fundraising or related activities on behalf of or in the name of University of Maryland Global Campus.
All fundraising and stewardship projects and activities including any that may be entered into with other elements of the University System of Maryland or agencies outside of the University, should be:
consistent with the current overall institutional image and branding of UMGC; and
undertaken and implemented consistent with an annual plan.
No employee of UMGC or other individual has the authority to make any agreements or understandings or to enter into any contracts for materials or supplies or otherwise take any action with respect to third parties relating to institutional advancement, development, or alumni relations which may be construed as financially or otherwise binding to the University without the express written consent of the Vice President, Institutional Advancement, applicable Senior Vice President, or President, as appropriate.
