Alumni Relations

1. Purpose

   The purpose of this policy concerning University of Maryland Global Campus ("UMGC" or "Institution") Alumni Relations is to provide a framework for those individuals responsible for administering services and activities related to alumni development.

2. Scope

   This policy applies to all individuals responsible for activities and services related to UMGC alumni relations and alumni volunteer development.

3. Definitions

   As a working definition, UMGC policy describes alumni as people who have had a degree or certificate conferred by the university.

4. Policy Statements

   The Office of Alumni Relations is responsible for planning, implementing, and administering alumni programs and services, and alumni volunteer development worldwide.

   In addition to overall administrative responsibility for alumni relations, the Associate Vice President of Alumni Relations serves as coordinator of the Alumni Advisory Board.

   The Office of Alumni Relations works closely with the Office of Development and the Office of the President in carrying out the institutional advancement initiatives of the University.
