Enrollment by Employees
Faculty and staff of any USM institution are eligible for tuition remission in UMGC courses consistent with the USM policy VII - 4.10. Faculty and staff must enroll for the tuition remission using forms available from the home institution's Personnel Office. All Executive Degree Programs, non-credit professional development programs and National University Degree Consortium Programs are excluded from the remission policy.
Enrollment by Spouses and Dependent Children
All spouses and dependent children of permanent faculty and permanent staff of any USM institution are eligible for tuition remission in UMGC courses consistent with the System policy, VII - 4.20. Spouses and dependent children must enroll for tuition remission using forms available at the home institution's Personnel Office. UMGC will remit tuition for one course per student until the total credit hours remitted for all students reaches the institutional limit. The limit is 120% of the base hours defined in the USM policy VII - 4.20. UMGC will accept approved tuition remission forms at the time of registration on a first-come, first-served basis until the limit is reached. All executive Degree Programs, non-credit professional development programs and National University Degree Consortium Programs are excluded from the remission policy.
Graduate Assistants
Graduate Assistants from any USM institution will be allowed the same tuition remission benefits as permanent faculty and staff. Spouses and dependent children of graduate assistants are not eligible for tuition remission.
