The Shared Translations of Judith Kornett and Virginia Sperry

The UMGC Arts Program invites you to the opening reception of Woven Threads: The Shared Translations of Judith Kornett and Virginia Sperry. Kicking off an exhibition season dedicated to textile art, Woven Threads examines how these Maryland artists use textile as their primary medium. While many people are familiar with the art of quilting, textile art encompasses numerous forms and approaches. Kornett’s fiber pieces tend to be more figurative and Sperry’s more abstract, but both artists tell compelling stories through their contemporary art. Join the UMGC community as we welcome these artists to discuss their creations and journeys in textile art.
