Letters from Home Exhibition

Opening Reception and Artist Talk

President Gregory Fowler and the UMGC Arts Program invite you to explore the art of nationally acclaimed artist Preston Sampson. A graduate of University of Maryland, College Park, with a degree in fine arts, Sampson has worked in a variety of art-related jobs. He has been a cartoon artist, printmaker, art teacher, art exhibition curator, and more. This exhibition is a journey through his life and experiences captured in colorful, stylistic works in painting, mixed media, collage, encaustic, and pulp paper.

Please join us for a conversation with the artist and guest writer Adrienne L. Childs, PhD, art historian and curator, as she explores Sampson’s stories from home in art.
