The Fiber Art of Sheila Crider

An independent artist based in Maryland, Sheila Crider began her career working with paper. This exhibition will focus on her fiber and painted canvas works, which provide a unique approach to the language of abstraction. Crider has received many grants, commissions, and awards, including Individual Artist Fellowships from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and residency fellowships to the Vermont Studio Center and the Leighton Artist Studios at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Canada.

Please join the UMGC community for the opening reception and an artist talk, moderated by Leslie King Hammond, PhD, professor emerita, Maryland Institute College of Art.
