The online graduate certificate in accounting can help you build professional knowledge and cutting-edge technology skill sets in accounting, data analytics, and information systems. Learning outcomes focus on budgeting, data analytics, reporting, and systems management skills to transform financial data into useful information for management decision-making. This program is designed to assist students in learning new skills in preparation for positions such as controller, managing partner, or senior accountant. 

The following degree requirements apply to students who begin continuous study on or after January 1, 2024.

Total Credits Required: 18

Initial Requirement

  • (0 Credits, UCSP 615)
    (to be taken within the first 6 credits of study)

The UCSP 615 requirement may be waived if you previously earned a graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution. For more information, contact your academic advisor.

Core Courses

Take the following five required courses:

  • (3 Credits, ACCT 610)
  • (3 Credits, ACCT 611)
  • (3 Credits, ACCT 613)
  • (3 Credits, ACCT 618)
  • (3 Credits, ACCT 628)

Choose one of the following courses:

  • (3 Credits, ACCT 625)
  • (3 Credits, ACCT 630)
  • (3 Credits, ACCT 635)
  • (3 Credits, ACCT 640)

  • You must have completed 15 credits of undergraduate accounting coursework to enroll in (3 Credits, ACCT 610).
  • (3 Credits, ACCT 610) is prerequisite to all other accounting courses except (3 Credits, ACCT 611).
  • (3 Credits, ACCT 610) and (3 Credits, ACCT 611) each include a prerequisite of 15 credit hours of undergraduate accounting and can be taken together.
  • (3 Credits, ACCT 628) should be taken before (3 Credits, ACCT 630), one of the four possible accounting elective courses in this certificate.
