University of Maryland Global Campus offers classes and full services at Shady Grove in Rockville, Maryland.

Located within the Universities at Shady Grove, this site is convenient to I-270. We invite transfer students from Montgomery College and local prospective and current students to visit us.

Walk-ins are welcome, or you can make an appointment for advising services at this location.

Computer labs at this location are only available to UMGC students who are taking hybrid classes at Shady Grove. Access to the computer labs requires a USG identification card. UMGC students who are not in a hybrid class at Shady Grove are only allowed to use the public computers located in the Shady Grove library.

The Universities at Shady Grove's Priddy Library provides access to online catalogs, databases, library materials, and other resources as well as research support from librarians. Library hours of operation vary by semester. "Library Night Owl" hours are available for students with an active USG identification card.

Online Library

UMGC's online library is available 24/7 to students around the globe. Most printed materials can be mailed at no cost to students in the continental United States, or you can request electronic delivery for journal articles and book chapters. To access research databases and the library catalog or view tutorials on how to conduct research, visit the UMGC Library.

This location can be reached by Montgomery County Ride-On bus #43 from the Shady Grove Metro Station. Other public transit options are available.

Parking Tips

UMGC students taking hybrid classes at Shady Grove have the option of purchasing a student semester parking permit once they obtain a USG student identification card. Students without a parking permit and visitors to Shady Grove have the option of using visitor parking and paying the hourly parking rate. Students and visitors to Shady Grove are responsible for paying their own parking fees.

Access to Shady Grove

Students who are in hybrid classes at Shady Grove are now required to obtain a USG identification card. To obtain your USG ID, please visit the Student and Academic Services Suite, Building 3, Room 1100.

Various private scholarships are available for students enrolled in programs at USG. These scholarships are created with contributions from private donors including the USG Board of Advisors, local businesses, foundations, community organizations, and individual donors.
