Email Change: How do I configure Outlook? (Windows)

If you previously accessed your former UMUC e-mail account using the Microsoft Outlook application on your computer or on a mobile device, you do not need to reconfigure your account for your new @umgc.edu, @faculty.umgc.edu or @student.umgc.edu e-mail address. Outlook and other e-mail apps will eventually prompt you to log in with your new e-mail address and password. 


Use the following instructions to configure your UMGC email account on a Windows computer:

1. Open Outlook and click File in the top left-hand corner.

2. Click Account Settings twice.

3. The Account Settings popup window will appear (as shown below). Add your UMGC e-mail account by selecting the New button.

4. Outlook’s sign-in panel will appear as shown below. Enter your UMGC email address and click Connect

5. Clicking Connect from the previous step will successfully add your UMGC account to Outlook. If you would like to add an additional account, type that e-mail address in the field under Add another email address.

6. Click Done
