What should I expect on the day of my Grad Walk?
Grad Walk is a short, celebratory event where you'll walk across the stage in regalia, receive your diploma cover, and have your photo taken. You and your guests will join university leaders for individual recognition at a time you select.
- Arrival: Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled time to allow for check-in.
- Guest Info: Bring guests—no tickets required. They can cheer from a reserved viewing area. Check the guest policy on our website for updates.
- Photos: Professional photos will be taken during your walk. You'll receive a video clip and photo access link afterward. You and your guests can also take photos on the grounds and at decorated stations.
- No Rehearsal Required: Our staff will guide you through the experience when you arrive. No prior walkthrough is needed.
- Duration: Grad Walk typically lasts 15-20 minutes per graduate.
- Special Celebration Zone: Commemorate your achievement in the Celebration Zone, meet UMGC Alumni Association reps, and purchase alumni apparel and mementos.
