How can I use the Brightspace Pulse App?

Why Use Pulse?

  • View course calendars, announcements, and grades.
  • Track deadlines and receive real-time updates.
  • Stay informed on the go.

Quick Start Guide for Students

  1. Download the App:
  2. Open App.
  3. Click Get Started.
  4. Choose UMGC Learning Management System from search.
  5. Log into your UMGC account.
  6. You will then be rerouted back to your Brightspace Pulse App.

Set Up Brightspace Push Notifications

  1. Click on the UMGC logo in the upper left corner.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Click Push Notifications.
  4. Select your preferences using the toggle buttons.
  5. Click Back.

Enable Email Notifications for the Online Classroom

From the Brightspace Pulse App Enable the Email Notifications from your Brightspace Pulse App by following the steps below:

  1. Click on the UMGC logo in the upper left corner.
  2. Choose Settings from the menu.
  3. Select Email Notifications.
  4. This will redirect you directly to the Notifications page in your profile.
    • If you are not logged in, you will be prompted to do so first.
  5. Under Instant Notifications, select your preferences and Save

From your Computer You can also enable email notifications from your online classroom:

  1. Access Online Classroom.
  2. Select your name in the upper-right corner.
  3. Click Notifications.
  4. Under Instant Notifications, select your preferences, and Save.

  • Switch to a computer for major tasks.
