Can I take courses at another school and transfer them to UMGC?
Yes, you may take courses at another institution and transfer the credits, if approved in advance and in line with our transfer policies.
- Get Approval: Speak with your Advisor and complete the Permission to Enroll (PTE) form emailed by your Admissions Advisor, Success Coach, or Military Education Coordinator.
- Complete a Consortium Agreement: Required if you are using financial aid, signed by both UMGC and the other school.
- Provide Proof of Registration: Submit documentation showing course details and dates.
Once approved, UMGC will adjust your financial aid based on your combined enrollment. Remaining aid may be refunded for use at the other school or for other educational expenses.
Important: Notify the Financial Aid Office of any enrollment changes and submit an official transcript after completing the course.
