What are the requirements for undocumented students under the Maryland DREAM Act?

Undocumented students are welcome to apply to UMGC. While you will not be eligible for federal financial aid, you may qualify for in-state tuition under Maryland's DREAM Act if you meet the following requirements:

  • Graduate from a Maryland high school (public or private) or earn an equivalent diploma in Maryland.
  • Enroll at a Maryland public college within six years of high school graduation.
  • Ensure you or your parent/guardian filed Maryland income tax returns for the three years before the term you plan to start.
  • Submit a signed affidavit stating you have appliedâ or will apply for permanent residency within 30 days of becoming eligible.
  • Register with the Selective Service (if you are male and between 18-25 years old).

If you meet these requirements, you may be eligible to pay in-state tuition rates, even as an undocumented student.
