Can I request more financial aid if my school costs are higher than expected?
UMGC uses federal guidelines to estimate your Cost of Attendance (COA), which includes things like tuition, fees, and supplies. You may be able to request a COA adjustment if you have extra education-related expenses, including things like a new computer, medical costs, or increased transportation.
Submit your appeal through the Help Center and include the following:
- A personal statement explaining the situation that led to your extra expenses
- Note: If you're only appealing for dependent care expenses, just complete the Child/Dependent Care Allowance Form; no statement needed.
- Documents that show the additional costs, including dates (like receipts, bills, or invoices)
