How do I qualify for the Dean's List?
To qualify for the Dean's List, you need to be a degree-seeking undergraduate student who has completed at least 6 credits (in courses graded A, B, C, D, or F) in a single term, achieve a term GPA of 3.5 or higher, and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 at UMGC. If you don't meet the GPA requirement in a term, you can still qualify in future terms by completing a minimum of 6 credits and meeting the GPA criteria.
All courses taken within the term count toward the GPA, regardless of whether the credit load exceeds 6 credits.
The Dean's List certificates are sent to eligible students through the Merit platform approximately a month after the conclusion of the term. Terms are defined as Fall, Spring, and Summer.
For questions about the Merit platform, please visit the What is a Merit Page? Help article.
Note: Graduate students may qualify for the President’s List if they complete a UMGC program with a cumulative GPA of 4.0 and meet other criteria. For more information, please visit the Why am I not on the Dean's list as a Grad? Help article.
