How do I earn credit through the Prior Learning Course Challenge?
The Prior Learning Course Challenge allows you to earn credit for what you already know by taking an exam that tests your understanding of a course's material.
- Check Eligibility: Review the Course Challenge Criteria to see if you qualify.
- Apply: If eligible, apply online for the course challenge.
- Earn Credit: You may earn academic credit for any undergraduate course with a suitable exam.
Important Notes
- Credit can be earned for any current UMGC undergraduate course with an appropriate assessment.
- The following courses are excluded from the challenge program:
- All capstone courses
- EXCL 301
- All 486A/486B (Workplace Learning) courses
