Repayment typically begins once the loan is fully disbursed. However, parents can request a deferment while the student is enrolled at least half-time and for six months after they graduate, leave school, or drop below half-time.

Repayment Options (10-25 years)

• Standard: Fixed monthly payments with terms of 10, 15, 20, or 25 years
• Repayment Assistance: Monthly payments will be based on your income

Students that are in a pre-existing repayment plan will need to select one of the two new options by July 1, 2028, or they will be defaulted into the Repayment Assistance plan.
