Can students register for online classes and on-site classes in the same semester?
Yes! You can register for both fully online and on-site (hybrid) classes during the same semester. On-site classes at UMGC are considered hybrid courses, meaning they combine online learning with scheduled in-person sessions.
If you are new to UMGC, we recommend starting with two 3-credit classes in your first semester to help you adjust to the classroom format. You can choose all online, all on-site (hybrid), or a mix, depending on course availability and your program requirements. Please consult with a student advisor for course selection assistance before enrolling in your first class.
Note: Military students using education benefits should speak with an advisor before registering, as some restrictions may apply.
