You can receive email, minibar, and SMS notifications for discussion forums, topics, and threads that you subscribe.

Subscribe to Discussion Notifications

1. From the Course Home page, go to Activities and Assessments and select Discussions.
2. Use the drop-down menu next to the topic or forum for which you would like to receive alerts and select Subscribe.
3. Select one of the following notification methods in the Customize Notifications pop-up window:
   • Show notifications in minibar only
   • Send me an instant notification
   • Include in my summary of activity
4. Select Subscribe.

Note: If you do not have an email address set up in your user profile, you will be prompted to enter your system password and new email in the pop-up window.

Unsubscribe from Notifications

1. From the Course Home page, go to Activities and Assessments and select Discussions.
2. Select the Subscriptions tab.
   • Note: You must be subscribed to at least one message to view this option.
3. Use the radio buttons to select the notification frequency that you prefer, or select the star icon to unsubscribe from a thread. 
4. You will receive a confirmation message that confirms the change.
