How do I invite friends or relatives from outside the country?

If you want to invite friends or family from outside the U.S. to your commencement ceremony, we can help by drafting a letter for your guest’s embassy. This letter will assist them in obtaining the necessary travel approvals.

To request the letter, email Graduation Services and include the following details:

  • Your name
  • Your student/employee ID
  • Your address
  • Your phone number
  • Name(s) of your guest(s)
  • Your guest's relationship to you
  • Guest's address
  • Whether you want the letter sent to you or directly to the embassy

You can also submit this request through your student portal. Be sure to request the letter at least two weeks before the Grad Walk ceremony.
