How do I get my international credits or transcripts evaluated?

If you studied outside the U.S., you need an evaluation from a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) approved agency.

Steps to Evaluate Your Credits

  • Choose a NACES-approved agency: Find one on the NACES website and follow their instructions.
  • Request a course-by-course evaluation: Provide course descriptions or syllabi translated into English.
  • Submit payment and forms to the agency: Do not send these directly to UMGC.
  • Send the evaluation to UMGC: The agency can send it by electronic submission, mail, or local pickup (Europe/Asia only).

Important: Documents opened by the student are considered unofficial and cannot be accepted.
