How do I apply to UMGC?

To help you prepare, check out: What information do I need when applying to UMGC?

Once you're ready, here's how to get started:

  1. Complete Your Application: Visit UMGC's online application to fill out and submit your application. The process typically takes about 10 minutes. Be sure to have your educational history handy, including dates of attendance and any degrees earned.
  2. Pay the Application Fee: There's a nonrefundable application fee of $50 for undergraduate and graduate programs, and $100 for doctoral programs.
  3. Submit Your Transcripts: For undergraduate admission, request official transcripts from all previously attended institutions, including high school and any colleges or universities. These should be sent directly to UMGC for evaluation.
  4. Explore Financial Aid Options: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine your eligibility for financial aid. UMGC's school code is 011644. Additionally, explore other financing options such as scholarships, military and veterans benefits, and employer tuition assistance.
  5. Register for Classes: Once admitted, you can register for classes through the MyUMGC portal. It's advisable to consult with an academic advisor to select courses that align with your degree plan.
