How does SAP affect my financial aid?
Federal law requires University of Maryland Global Campus students who apply for and/or receive financial aid to meet the university's requirements for satisfactory academic progress (SAP) in order to remain eligible for financial aid.
At the conclusion of each spring term (after all grades have posted), we assess your academic performance to determine whether you are making satisfactory progress toward completing a degree or certificate by assessing the following:
- GPA
- Completion Rate for Total Credit Hours Successfully Completed
- If it is mathematically possible for you to complete your program of study within the maximum timeframe
Graduate and Undergraduate students have different requirements. You must meet the minimum requirements of the SAP policy for your program of study. If you do not meet the requirements, you will not be eligible to receive financial aid. To learn more about SAP, visit UMGC's SAP page.
