How do homeschooled students apply to UMGC?

If you were homeschooled, you can apply to UMGC like any other undergraduate student. The admissions process is flexible and accepts a variety of educational backgrounds.

Required documents

  • Transcript with grades, cumulative GPA, and date of completion
  • Brief course outline with descriptions and instructional materials
  • Details on homeschooling regulations in your state (e.g., Maryland residents must follow 13A.10.01)

Optional documents

  • Standardized test scores (SAT®, ACT, etc.)
  • Letters of recommendation (academic or professional)

Send all documents to admissions@umgc.edu with the subject line "Homeschooled Applicant." If requirements aren’t met, GED scores may be requested.
