What are the graduate program requirements?

To earn a Master's or Doctoral degree from UMGC Graduate School, you must:

  • Complete Required Coursework:
    • Finish all courses in your program's curriculum.
    • Most programs require 30-48 credit hours, depending on the program.
  • Meet the GPA Requirement: Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all graduate courses.
  • Follow Grade Requirements:
    • Master's: Courses with a grade of F cannot count toward graduation.
    • Doctoral: Courses with a grade of C or lower cannot count toward graduation.
  • Finish Within the Time Limit: Complete all coursework within the program's designated timeframe (usually 5 years).
