What is the Golden ID Program?
The Golden ID Program helps Maryland residents 60 or older take courses tuition-free at UMGC (up to 7 undergraduate or 6 graduate credits per semester), as long as space is available. You are still responsible for additional fees, like EXCEL fees.
To qualify, you must:
- Be a Maryland resident
- Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
- Be 60 years old by the start of the semester
- Work no more than 20 hours a week
- Meet all admission requirements
Important: Benefits do not apply to specialty graduate tuition programs, doctoral programs, noncredit courses, or 800-level courses.
