When will my GI Benefits be applied to my account?
At UMGC, we follow a dual certification process to make sure your GI Bill benefits are accurately applied to your account.
- Initial Certification: We first report your enrollment to the VA with estimated tuition and fees. This is often a zero-dollar certification.
- Updated Certification: After the add/drop period, we update the VA with your actual tuition and fee amounts. This usually happens within 30 days.
- Payment Timeline:Once we submit the updated certification, your VA benefits are typically applied to your account within 2-4 weeks.
