What does the FN grade mean?

The FN grade stands for Failure for Non-Attendance. You may receive an FN grade if you:

  • Never attend your course, or
  • Stop participating without officially withdrawing.

An FN grade counts the same as an F in your GPA calculation and carries zero quality points. If you are unable to continue in a course, it is important to officially withdraw to avoid receiving an FN.

See Calculation of Grade-Point Average for Inclusion on Transcripts and Transcript Requests for additional information.
