What is happening with my financial aid?
Updates to federal financial aid have resulted in software and process changes that need to be completed to ensure the accurate processing of 2026–2027 financial aid. We are working as quickly as possible to serve the needs of our learners while remaining in compliance with these emerging federal requirements.
At this time, we are not yet able to provide a confirmed disbursement date. Rather than provide a date we cannot guarantee, we will continue to share updates as additional information becomes available.
How UMGC Is Supporting You
- Late April 2026: We implemented Estimated Loans to provide visibility into anticipated loan eligibility and help prevent unnecessary disenrollment while federal processing remained unavailable.
- May 2026: We converted estimated awards into actual financial aid awards that can be processed once federal functionality becomes available.
- We updated our software and began testing new functionality needed for 2026–2027 federal aid processing.
- June 2026: We are continuing to implement additional updates, validate system functionality, and prepare student records for processing as federal and vendor updates become available.
