What are the loan limits for Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans?
There are limits on how much you can borrow in federal student loans, based on your dependency status and degree level.

| Independent Undergraduate Students (or if parent PLUS denied) | $57,500 | $23,000 |
| Graduate or Professional Students | $100,000 | $65,000 (includes undergraduate loans) |
Students will also be limited to $257,500 in total borrowing as a student, which includes undergraduate, graduate, and Graduate PLUS borrowing. It also includes all loans that have been repaid, cancelled or forgiven.
