How much can I borrow with a Federal Direct Grad PLUS Loan?
The Federal Direct Grad PLUS Loan can help you pay for the difference between your Cost of Attendance (COA) and any other financial aid you've received.
Example: If your COA is $30,000 and you've received $20,000 in other aid, you could borrow up to $10,000 with a Grad PLUS Loan.
UMGC will offer you either $10,000 or the difference between your COA and other aid, whichever is less. Your award will also be adjusted in accordance with your enrollment in the academic year.
NOTE: The Grad PLUS program will only be available to limited populations of students over the next 3 academic years due to new regulations from the One big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA).You will need to be a previous Direct Loan borrower and maintain continuous enrollment your current program at your current institution. You will receive a notice if you are no longer eligible for PLUS loan funding.
You can find more details about the Grad PLUS Loan program on the Federal Student Aid website.
