What are the eligibility requirements for Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans?
Direct Subsidized Loans
- Undergraduate students only.
- Must demonstrate financial need.
- Must be enrolled at least half-time.
- Interest is paid by the government while enrolled at least half-time.
Direct Unsubsidized Loans
- Available to undergraduates and graduates.
- No financial need required.
- Must be enrolled at least half-time.
- Student is responsible for the interest.
