How do I copy and paste in the Virtual Desktop (VDA) lab using Linux file transfer?
You can move your files quickly in just a few steps. This article guides you through connecting to your virtual lab environment, opening the needed applications, and transferring files where you need them.
Steps to Transfer Files:
-
Go to: https://vdi.umgc.edu to connect to your UMGC virtual environment.
-
Open Lab Broker in Cyber Programs.
-
If you have not already allocated your lab computers, do this before the next steps.
-
-
Connect to the Linux computer.
-
When you see the "Open Windows PowerShell" popup, check the box and click Open Windows PowerShell to stop this from appearing again.
-
-
Follow the NoMachine prompts to connect to the Linux system.
-
Check your windows: Once connected, you will see Lab Broker, Desktop, and the Linux computer windows/tabs.
-
Transfer files:
-
Make sure your Linux machine is not in full-screen mode.
-
Place it side by side with the Desktop folder.
-
Drag and drop the desired file(s) from the lab computer to the Desktop folder on the right.
-
-
Look for the NoMachine completion notice: A popup will confirm your file has transferred.
-
Tip: Dragging and dropping a file into the black area of the screen pastes the file to the Desktop folder.
