What are the recommended browser settings for Internet Explorer?

If you use Internet Explorer to access UMGC websites, update your settings to make sure everything works smoothly. To check your version, click Help > About Internet Explorer. Then follow the steps for your version below.

Internet Explorer 11

  1. Click Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Under General > Browsing History, click Settings and select Every time I visit the webpage.
  3. Under Security, click Reset all zones to default level.
  4. Under Privacy, click Advanced, select Accept for third-party cookies, and click OK.
  5. Click Sites, enter umgc.edu, click Allow, and confirm it's  Always Allow.
  6. Click OK > Apply > OK.

Internet Explorer 8

  1. Click Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Under General > Browsing History, click Settings and select Every time I visit the webpage.
  3. Under Security, click Reset all zones to default level.
  4. Under Privacy, click Default Level (if available).
  5. Move the privacy slider to accept all cookies or:
  6. Click Sites, enter umgc.edu, click Allow, and confirm it's Always Allow.
  7. Click OK > Apply > OK.
