What happens if I change schools during the financial aid year?
If you plan to transfer from UMGC to another school in the same financial aid year, your aid may need to be adjusted so you can receive federal aid at the new school.
If you have pending aid at UMGC that needs to be canceled, you may request a reduction/cancellation of previously accepted Federal Direct Loans by submitting a 2026-2027 Loan Change Form for review.Important: If you leave UMGC mid-term and cancel aid, you may owe funds back to UMGC. It's recommended to wait until the end of the term before transferring. Contact the Office of Financial Solutions or your Success Coach for assistance.
